The invention relates to a method for processing a tree trunk, which is profiled after alignment with respect to a longitudinal axis by means of at least one tool to a block of wood and then sawn into lumber.
In order to ensure a good timber utilization by processing small amounts of waste during the processing of logs, it is known (AT 387745 B) to align the logs on a longitudinal conveyor with respect to their longitudinal axis before processing. This can be done for example by means of both sides of the longitudinal conveyor rotatably mounted and each other in pairs opposite straightening arms. In addition, it is known from the AT 365505 B to profile logs before processing into boards to a wood block, which serves as a starting work for sawing the boards. The aligned tree trunks or the profiled wooden blocks are fed to such a preparation via a longitudinal conveyor of a band saw and processed into boards.
A disadvantage of these known methods, however, is that complex and fault-prone processing lines must be provided for the logs for passing through the individual processing stations, with the transport of the logs in the longitudinal direction a re-clamping between the individual processing stations is required, which affects the processing accuracy. In addition, due to the successive in the longitudinal direction of the logs processing stations a considerable amount of space is given.
The invention is therefore based on the object, a method for processing logs in such a way that a good timber utilization in conjunction 2/20 2 can be ensured with accurate processing with relatively simple design means and small footprint.
Starting from a method of the type described, the invention solves the problem by the fact that the tree trunk is aligned by a displacement of at least one root end transversely to the tree trunk relative to a longitudinal axis and tensioned in its alignment coaxial with the longitudinal axis before the taut tree trunk while maintaining the restraint is profiled into a block of wood with the aid of the movable along the tree trunk tool, after which the block of wood is spanned in the clamping position for the profiling and sawed into sawn timber.
By aligning the tree trunk to be processed with respect to a longitudinal axis, which represents the essential reference axis for the subsequent processing, the tree trunk can be clamped according to this orientation processing and profiled into a block of wood. The tree trunk thus needs to be shifted only transversely to its longitudinal direction after its orientation for its complete processing.
Since in general the required for a good wood utilization position of the log relative to a relevant reference for the subsequent processing axis can be determined only after a survey of the log, the tree trunk can be aligned after a survey with respect to the predetermined longitudinal axis and rotated after its clamping in a predetermined reference rotational position become. This reference rotational position depends on the arrangement of the processing tools and ensures a low waste.
In this context, particularly simple machining conditions arise when the clamped tree trunk or the clamped wood block is rotated by 90 ° between individual related to a longitudinal side of the tree trunk or the wood block processing steps. To achieve constant processing results, the profiling of the tree trunk or the sawing of the profiled wood block can be carried out according to a machining program selected from stored machining programs as a function of a tree trunk measurement. On the basis of the surveying results of the tree trunk, a machining program is selected from a number of stored processing programs, which enables optimum processing for the tree trunk to be processed and the lumbers to be produced. Of course, parameters of the stored machining programs can also be adapted to the results of the tree trunk measurement.
To carry out the method, it can be assumed that a device comprising a device for aligning the tree trunk with respect to a Längsach- 4/20 4 se, a processing device for profiling the tree trunk to a block of wood and means for sawing the block of wood in lumber. Particularly advantageous processing conditions arise when the processing tools can be adjusted or moved in the direction of 3 axes.
If the clamping device is displaced axially parallel to the longitudinal axis between the alignment device and the processing device for the production of a wood block, the throughput can be increased accordingly, because during the processing of the wood block a new tree trunk can already be aligned and stretched.

The frontal clamping of the tree trunk to its profiling hinders the sawing of the profiled wood block. For this reason, the wood block is preferably re-clamped without its displacement. The device shown has a device 1 for aligning a tree trunk 2, which is placed on two arranged at a mutual distance in the trunk longitudinal direction, provided with a V-shaped receptacle 3 log rests 4. The tensioning device 9 itself may advantageously have two pines 13 holding the tree trunk 2 between rotary crowns 12, the rotary crowns 12 being drive-connected with rotary drives 14. The pines 12 are mounted perpendicular to the longitudinal axis 10 of the clamping device 9 via a guide 15 in the manner of a Gelenkparallelogramms, so that the Pinoien 13 can be moved parallel to itself.
